The Monster

8/15/97

I have been kidnapped by a can producing dragon
Hidden away in a windowless dungen with no air conditioning
The monster's ceaseless rattling is not only grating my nerves
But is wounding my usually cheerful spirit.

Into my mind I hide myself away
Making my way through over grown paths,
long forgotten after having found my oasis and set up camp.
Soon I will meet up with Loneliness and we
will resume our ongoing game of charades.
I will do my impression of Katherine Hepburn
and he will guess that I'm Maralyn Monroe.
I'm over-acting again, putting on a smile to face the world.
But if only I WERE in the world. I'm currently
captured in a web of time and money.
Forced to piddle my life away...always waiting
for the next thing...never enjoying the pressent.
